Batch PO generation
June 1st, 2010Kanban tag printing with bar codes
June 1st, 2010Kanban tags with bar codes can now be printed. You must select a bar code font in the preferences on Preferences>Forms. The Kanban tags correspond to stocking locations of parts. To set up info for a Kanban tag, open a part and click on the Inventory tab. In the top table on that tab, which is the list of stocking locations for that part, add the stocking location if it doesn’t already exist. Mark the stocking location as a “Stocked” location, enter the quantity in the “Max Qty” field, and specify a location name. Stocking location name options for the stocking location drop down field can be managed for each Company Location.
You can initiate the printing, by right clicking on the stocking location. Also, you can print tags for all stocking locations for a part by right clicking on the part in the main parts list. To batch print, either simply select multiple parts in the main parts list, or start a part collection worksheet and select parts there for batch printing the Kanban tags.

Auto-confirm transfers
March 26th, 2010When a transfer is initiated from one stocking location to another on a part’s Inventory tab, the transfer can be auto-confirmed for immediate transfer on the appropriate transfer schedule. There’s a new check box on the transfer initiation dialog for specifying that a transfer should be auto-confirmed.
Payments automatically exported to QuickBooks
March 23rd, 2010Payments are now automatically exported to QuickBooks when entered into BizApp. The export occurs when the “lock” button is clicked on the payment. If the payment is subsequently unlocked and changed, the payment will be updated in QuickBooks when the lock button is clicked again. Invoices and bills will soon function similarly.

March 9th, 2010Users can now specify packaging sizes (bundle sizes) on the individual stocking locations for each part. Packaging sizes entered here will be the default packaging sizes for stocking refill schedule items and sub-part schedule items.

Seamless QuickBooks integration
February 16th, 2010In order to apply export payments applied to invoices to QuickBooks, I’m switching to a new style of QuickBooks integration that involves querying and adding data directly to the QuickBooks data file. No more import step, and in fact, I could even do away with the explicit export step too if users want automatic transfer of data from BizApp to QuickBooks “behind the scenes”.
